In the early 1970’s, shortly after The Beatles disbanded and Elvis started appearing on Vegas sideshow marquees, an oil crunch signaled the beginning of the end for American muscle cars. Four-cylinder, fuel efficient, foreign cars, like the Honda Civic and the Toyota Celica, emerged on the auto scene and began a rise to national prominence.
